Cheltenham hat hire
Cheltenham Festival: Tuesday 11th March - Friday 14th March 2025
What should I wear to the Cheltenham races?
With the exception of the Cheltenham Festival (in March each year), the fashion at Cheltenham tends to be fairly relaxed. Cheltenham Racecourse is the home of jump racing which takes place over the winter so it’s key to make sure you have outerwear and shoes that can cope with rain and mud.
Hats are commonplace at Cheltenham racing and many of the pieces in our Autumn/Winter collection would work very well.
What should I wear to the Cheltenham Festival?
The fashion - and the headwear - at the Cheltenham Festival goes up a gear from the rest of the season and it’s the perfect place to showcase some of our more elaborate and brightly coloured Autumn/Winter pieces.
Cheltenham is far more relaxed than say, Royal Ascot - there is no formal dress code or minimum size of hat required. Mid-March can mean highly unpredictable weather with chilly and wet conditions not out of the question. Even in hospitality, where weather is less of a concern, we would typically recommend against looking at Spring hats.
Our free styling service is there to help, get in touch with details or photographs of the rest of your outfit and we will be happy to advise.
Crucially, we recommend you decide on your coat or jacket before choosing the outfit to go underneath. The final step is to select the hat as it will need to go with both.
What should I wear to Ladies’ Day at Cheltenham?
The Wednesday of the Cheltenham Festival is known as ‘Style Wednesday’ where guests are invited to go the extra mile. To really stand out from the crowd you could wear one of our statement colourful Autumn/Winter pieces such as ‘Kirsty’ or ‘Suzie’.
In particular guests are asked to celebrate sustainable fashion and clothing rental - naturally we couldn’t agree more. Style awards are handed out with Nyetimber and Boodles prizes, just let them know your got the hat from us!
Can you help me find the perfect hat for Cheltenham?

You can come to our studio in St Albans, or if that’s too far away, we can send you some options via email/WhatsApp - we promise this works and the colours will match!
