What should I wear to an investiture?

A Royal investiture, held at Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle, or occasionally at Holyroodhouse, is really special occasion for you and the friends or family members you bring along.

Although not absolutely compulsory, most women choose to wear a hat for such an important event. Investitures happen throughout the year, so once you have the date of your ceremony you can start to think about an outfit to suit the time of year.

We have hundreds of hats in both our Spring/Summer, and Autumn/Winter collections so we will definitely have something for you. We'd recommend you choose a smaller hat, headpiece or headband rather than a wide-brimmed or statement hat; it will be a long day and you'll want to look fabulous but feel comfortable, and of course for your face to be visible in the photos!
